    Sky Travel operates in 2 picturesque locations:

    The Mukhrani Valley

    The Mukhrani Valley is located approximately 30-40 minutes by car from Tbilisi in the village of Natakhtari, near Mtskheta. This location offers ideal conditions and sunny weather for hot air balloon rides.

    The Alazani Valley

    The Alazani Valley is located in Kakheti, Georgia’s wine region. It’s truly a place of unique beauty, stretching for over 100 km along the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range. You can marvel at the mighty snow-capped peaks and stunning views of the Caucasus Mountains.

      Frequently Asked Questions

      – The balloon flies for approximately 40-60 minutes, although the duration may vary depending on wind speed. However, the entire experience, including preparation for departure, the pre-flight briefing, the flight itself, the landing and the initiation ceremony as aeronauts, typically lasts for 2 to 3 hours.

      – When surface winds are calm, hot air balloon pilots control the altitude of the balloon by adjusting the temperature of the air inside through heating or venting. However, during the daytime, the surface winds are disrupted by “thermals”. These thermals are upward spiraling columns of warm air generated by the sun heating the ground. Thermals make it challenging to control the balloon. Therefore, early morning/evening flights are the safest, and absolutely breathtaking.

      – The balloon can rise as high as 50 meters and higher. At lower altitudes, you can even chat with people on the ground. But as we climb higher, you’ll be treated to some absolutely stunning views – the valley below and the snow-capped peaks of the Greater Caucasus Mountains right in front of you.

      – Hot air balloon rides with passengers typically cover distances ranging from 4 to 20 kilometers (apart from sports competitions and championships). The distance depends on the wind speed on the day of your flight.

      – Passengers can wear anything they like, but it’s important to remember that certain clothing may not be conducive to climbing into the balloon basket or when landing in an open field. For optimal comfort, we recommend that both men and women wear trousers, sneakers, any type of top, sunglasses, and a hat or some other headwear to protect against the sun. Don’t forget to use sunscreen. By the way, the temperature at higher altitudes does not significantly differ from that on the ground when selecting your flight attire.

      – Yes! We fly every month of the year, but it’s important to note that our availability depends on the weather conditions.

      – In case of unfavorable flying conditions due to the weather, your flight may be canceled and we’ll refund your deposit payment. Our team will also check your availability for the following day and, if possible, reschedule your booking. For the best chance of flying, we recommend booking your flight for the earliest available morning slot to maximize opportunities in case of bad weather.

      – Many of our passengers openly admit to being afraid of heights. However, all of them have shared their delight in taking the flight, realizing that their fears were unfounded and comparing it to floating/swimming in the sky. After flying with us in a hot air balloon, people overcome their fear of heights.

      – Hot air balloon flights are generally safe; however, no, flying in a balloon is not recommended for pregnant women or those who suspect they might be pregnant due to the possibility of bumpy landings.

      – Yes, and they love it! Children over six are allowed to fly in a hot air balloon.

      – Every one of our pilots is licensed by the GCAA (Georgian Civil Aviation Authorities); they undergo both flight and health assessments regularly. Our balloons, just like any other aircraft, are registered and undergo scheduled safety inspections.
